There’s a single moment, a moment of true connection. Intimacy is an emotion. A kind of interaction. Intimacy describes sexual contact, tender physical contact. It also describes how well two people know each other, how two people occupy the space together. Intimacy requires no verbal communication. The kiss is specifically a gesture of human intimacy. The passion and tenderness of the embrace is most likely to provoke a sentimental response. This series explores that of the kiss, the touch, the motion, movement, feeling, and expressions of two people while in the act of being intimate. All though these photographs were chosen from unstaged documented observations of my intimate relationship, I reframed and composited the images in a way to further give the feeling of watching an intimate moment occur right in front of you. Capturing the reality of my subject’s experience.
